Versatile Removable Panels

Static-Neutralizing Ionizing Bar

Status Indicator Light

The Terra Universal logo incorporates an LED light that functions as a status indicator. The TUI logo will flash when the unit is connected to power, but the blower is switched off. A solid glow indicates the station is fully operational.

Simple User Interface

Operator controls include the ON/OFF switches, blower speed controls, and a Minihelic™ backpressure gauge for monitoring the load on the HEPA filter. When the backpressure roughly doubles from the initial readings, the filter needs replacing.

Explosion Proof 40W LED Light

UL-listed for Class I, Division 1 and 2, Groups C and D areas, this low profile LED light produces 3,600 lumens and operates from 120 to 277VAC, 50/60Hz. The heat-dissipating housing increases the efficiency and lifespan of the LEDs.

GFCI Duplex Outlet for Operational Convenience

A GFCI power receptacle is installed on the right-hand side of the hood interior for operational convenience. GFCI outlets help prevent electric shock and damage to your electrical devices. Alternate mounting locations can be specified at time of order.

Air Return Ducts

For enhanced air-stream control, the flow station features return ducts along the edges of the hood opening. These ducts reduce backwash caused by placing objects near the work surface edge, a common source of turbulence inside a clean bench.

Filter Module Housing

This optional blower module adds a 10"-tall housing with a 1200 CFM exhaust fan mounted inside. The blower module can be used by itself or with the Filter Module, which purifies exhaust air when equipped with activated carbon and HEPA filters.

Vapor-Sealed Fluorescent Illuminator

This fluorescent light fixture is enclosed in a vapor-sealed, static-dissipative PVC housing to protect the light source from dust, dirt, and vapors. The housing extends the useful life of the light fixture and provides an easy-to-clean surface.

Vibration-Isolated Work Surface and Stand for Benchtop Hoods

Two-piece stand creates a vibration-isolated work surface underneath a benchtop hood, ideal for use with microscopes or other vibration sensitive equipment. The outside stand supports only the hood to isolate vibration from the blower unit. The inside workbench nests within the outer stand without touching it, thus minimizing transmission of vibration from the hood.

Explosion-Proof Illuminator

This incandescent illuminator is rated Class I, Div. 1 and 2 (Groups C and D); Class II, Div. 1 and 2 (Groups E and F); and Class III, Div. 1 and 2 (all groups); suitable for locations in which ignitable mixtures exist under normal conditions.

Vapor- and Dust-Sealed Lights

Vapor- and dust-sealed fluorescent lights enhance safety in chemical fume hood applications. Impact-resistant polyester housing and acrylic diffuser with two F20T12 lamps for 20 Watts total energy usage; ideal for wet or damp locations.

Activated Charcoal Filter

Activated charcoal filters remove a wide range of chemicals from the airstream to allow ductless fume hood operation. Bonded charcoal minimizes void spaces, improves efficiency, reduces particle sloughing. Not for use with hazardous substances.
